Tales of the Cocktail is the world's premier cocktail festival, a week-long global celebration of spirits, cocktails, and the beverage industry held annually in New Orleans. Organized by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation, the event brings together bartenders, distillers, enthusiasts, and other professionals for educational seminars, tastings, networking, and special events designed to advance the industry. Tales of the Cocktail recognized its own carbon and environmental impact, as well as the impact of its industry, and sought to be as intentional as possible in being a responsible partner.
Tales of the Cocktail hired LifeCity to help conduct a baseline sustainability assessment including a Greenhouse Gas Emissions assessment. Based on our assessment in year 1, we helped Tales design a three year plan to help prove their positive social and environmental impact throughout the event. By aligning participants, sponsors, and attendees with LifeCity’s support, the flagship conference was able to divert 24,027 lbs of waste from the landfill.
Sponsors received an Impact Report with data validated by LifeCity to inspire more to continue to support their green initiatives.
