Four-Day Week
LifeCity Celebrates Three Years of the Four-Day Week by Supporting the Movement for Shorter Workweeks
Louisiana is a state with a proud, vibrant culture; it also faces unique economic and environmental vulnerabilities. In celebration of its third anniversary of transitioning to the four-day workweek, LifeCity is proud to sign on to WorkFour’s Letter to Policymakers in Support of Shorter Workweeks to encourage Congress to enact legislation to codify the four-day workweek as policy in the United States. As the only Louisiana company listed in WorkFour’s directory of organizations that have adopted the four-day week, LifeCity strongly believes that moving to a 32-hour workweek without a reduction in pay has significant benefits for employees, organizations, and society as a whole.
As we move further into the 21st century, it is critical that businesses lead the way in ensuring that the future of Louisiana is sustainable and equitable. This involves creating impact externally through responsible business practices and community engagement, but it also requires prioritizing impact internally by building a workplace that promotes balanced and healthy lives for employees.
LifeCity is an impact management firm that believes in living its values and helping to build an economy that provides opportunities for every individual to thrive. By piloting, adopting and maintaining the four-day workweek, LifeCity hopes to serve as an example for fellow Louisiana companies and organizations considering a similar transition. The four-day workweek is a win-win-win situation, with improved well-being for employees, greater productivity for organizations, and economic and environmental benefits for society.
