Our Mission
Our mission is to build an economy that works for good by helping organizations manage, track, report, and market their impact. Working for good means that the results of business and other organizational activities improve our environment, support greater equity, and empower people and organizations to become their best selves. As a for-benefit organization, our nonprofit work, the Love Your City Initiative, has a mission to connect organizations with conscious consumers and sustainable service providers to accelerate equity and sustainability. Our vision is for every organization and their appointed Impact Officer to collaborate to accelerate policy, innovation, and best practices that allow us to enjoy New Orleans for centuries to come.
Make an impact. Grow your business.
In today's age, consumers and talent demand transparency and intention. We enable organizations to capture these valuable markets by helping them assess, measure and market all types of impact across local, regional and international standards. Our consulting team and software tools make impact simple, credible and inspiring.
Get ahead of the curve.
Organizations that acknowledge the rising tide of conscientious consumers have an opportunity to thrive in the modern economy and avoid playing catch-up. At LifeCity, we partner with businesses to evaluate, develop and promote their impact to achieve internal goals that align with local community priorities.
“You have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
—Jane Goodall
For-benefit
For-benefit companies are a new class of business that emphasize purpose alongside profit. LifeCity is a proud for-benefit, certified DBE that reinvests 100% of profits into its mission to create social change.
By supporting the Love Your City initiative, LifeCity is participating in efforts to set open-source regional standards to drive collective impact. We believe that with a collaborative approach, business can be a force for public good.
Core Values
Radical Authenticity: We believe in coming to work as our whole selves and supporting the wholeness of others. The best way to build a successful team and community is by establishing trust, which can only be achieved through transparency, humility, and authentic self-expression.
Place-Based Approach: We believe in person-based and place-based development for our team and community. For both individuals and communities, it is essential that we look at growth respectfully and treat each person and place uniquely based on our individual pasts and future goals. Our effort, which requires honest and transparent conversations, brings both joyful and challenging discourse grounded in an authentic desire to support the best in every individual and community.
Amplifying Interdependence: We believe that when it comes to building teams and communities, the sum is always greater than the parts. By recognizing opportunities for partnerships and collaboration, our community becomes stronger, more interconnected, and therefore more resilient. We recognize that the world is interconnected and our success in bound with yours.
