LifeCity’s Statement on the US Supreme Court’s Dobbs Decision

LifeCity unequivocally supports women’s right to safe, effective, and affordable reproductive healthcare access, including abortion. Bodily autonomy is a human right, and LifeCity explicitly rejects any infringement on this human right by governments or any other entity. 

As part of its paid healthcare program, LifeCity will cover the cost for any employee or partner of an employee, as well as one support person, to access abortion services at the nearest location that these services are legally offered. Additionally, LifeCity calls on the Louisiana legislature to protect the right to abortion and other necessary reproductive healthcare options for everyone, at all times, through legislation, constitutional amendments, or other means.

LifeCity works actively to resist the white supremacist capitalist patriarchy through its work and work processes. We view the US Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization as an expression of patriarchal oppression that will expand gender, race, and class inequities in wealth, income access, health outcomes, and other critical dimensions of social life. This runs directly counter to LifeCity’s mission of building an economy rooted in equity and sustainability, and we explicitly reject efforts by any government actor to restrict constitutionally protected access to safe and effective reproductive healthcare.
