Every month we are bringing you updates from LifeCity Business Members that are embodying the spirit of the Green Games through implementing their sustainability goals. These members are not only saving money while going green, they are improving their social and environmental impacts for the benefit of their organizations and New Orleans.
This month, we hear from C4 Tech & Design a long-time LifeCity Business Member that renewed their membership this month:
“C4 Tech & Design is proud to be a part of LifeCity and the Green Games, and love doing our part to have a sustainable business. In addition to recycling whatever we can in the office, replacing all our overhead lights with energy-efficient CFL bulbs, and installing a thermometer with programmable temperature settings, we also recently opted out of using Kentwood Water in favor of [LifeCity Business Member] Pure Water Technologies.
Our new cooler takes water from our existing water line, purifies it, and serves it up either ice cold or piping hot, thereby eliminating wasteful plastic bottles and our stop for the Kentwood delivery trucks. Plus, it saves us some green! As a worker-owned cooperative business, we have multiple bottom lines, including worker happiness and environmental stewardship, and C4 applauds everyone who’s doing their part.” Drew Stephan, Web Developer.
