LEED Certified Building

LEED certification is an internationally recognized standard for measuring building sustainability. Achieving LEED certification is the best way for you to demonstrate that a building project is truly “green.”

Why this Matters

For My Organization

LEED-certified buildings benefit people and the planet. By reducing waste and using renewable energy, LEED-certified buildings also reduce costs, making a LEED building important for the bottom line.

For New Orleans

LEED encourages building owners to construct, renovate and operate facilities in an environmentally sensitive manner, thus protecting the local and global environment as much as possible.

Cost

$0.03-$0.05 per sq ft. for registration; documentation costs (hiring outside consultant or the time of a current employee); compliance costs (commissions go from about $0.50-$1 per sq. ft.); construction cost (depends on the types of changes implemented)
