LifeCity Greentrepreneur Clear the Clutter is the #1 professional organizing service in New Orleans. We specialize in downsizing with compassion for those that are overwhelmed with owning too much stuff. Our eco friendly goal is to eliminate the stress of mess by donating & recycling the clutter removed from clients homes. Our mission is to improve the quality of life one item at a time.
Brief Bio: #1 professional organizer & owner of the Clear the Clutter Stasia Cymes moved to New Orleans sight unseen in 2011 from Seattle WA & quickly established herself as a trusted authority when co-owners of the iconic Commanders Palace Lally Brennan & Ti Martin became two of her first clients. Stasia founded the Business Ladies Night Out network group & is ambassador for the Mid-City Business Association. In addition to being a neat freak & recycling advocate she would love to host her own Clear the Clutter series on HGTV.
What are some of your proudest moments as owner of Clear the Clutter?
Winning the 2013 Innovator of the Year Award. Being a featured business on NPR’s Out To Lunch at Commanders Palace. Recurring segment on Channel 4 News, hiring my first employee/team member & winning Angie’s List Super Service Award making us the #1 rated professional organizers in New Orleans!
How does your organization go about improving your social and environmental impacts?
In addition to recycling & donating clutter we also coach our clients on how to do these things for themselves in the future. We also promote our favorite green resources such as Green Project & Arc through events, social media & we’re adding a green resource page to our website.
What partnerships have you formed in order to leverage sustainable impact as a company?
We work with many local charities such as Veterans Shared Housing & the Boys & Girls Club, by donating goods for fundraisers whenever possible. We also find that being a member LifeCity has helped us improve the level of our sustainable impact by taking a closer look at our practices.
If you had a magic wand to change one thing that would make it easier for your company or other New Orleans businesses to go green, what would that thing be?
Glass would be included in NOLA’s curbside recycling program. Dept. of Sanitation would provide residents the services needed to safely dispose of hazardous waste year round. Greater awareness & education on how & where to recycle, including Mardi Gras beads!
What advice would you give to other businesses who are trying to improve their internal practices to benefit their city and state?
Follow your passion, do your research & take advantage of the programs available. I.e. LifeCity, StayLocal, SBDC etc.
